I truly enjoyed reading The Friday Five every week, but I also get you! It's probably not to the same degree, but I feel similarly when I find myself scrolling through social media just to have some interesting post or meme to send to my friend group chat 😅 I'm really grateful for the thought and effort you've put into it all this time, and I commend your decision to take a step back for your own well-being. I still look forward to whatever you'll put out in the future, even if they're just random musings or insights you'd like to share, and of course, the podcast! A gazillion thanks again for all your wonderful work :)
Sounds like a wise choice, especially if it's getting you spending more time on social media rather than focusing the time you already spend there.
Friday Five is particularly structured... I would, personally, find it incredibly hard to stick to it if it weren't more flexible (even sticking to 5 every time!).
Thanks, Robyn! I actually like the fixed format, and I had some good feedback about this aspect specifically. If anything, it kept me from the very real temptation of writing 8,000 word diatribes on a whim! I've enjoyed reading your posts, especially the words of the week!
I find I do need limitations and deadlines and meticulous schedules, if only to have something to rebel against. But they still keep me under some sort of control. In other words, if I did a Friday Five it would mostly be sent on Thursday or Monday and contain 3 to 10 topics.
Thanks! It's great to have an outlet for my love of words.
Thanks Tom, glad to see you putting your energies where they feel right for you. Always a pleasure receiving your updates, infrequent or otherwise. Have a nice weekend.

Oh yes, limiting diatribes is very healthy.

Such a rebel!
It's a blessing and a curse.
Thank you Tom for everything you do!
Thanks, Diana!

Thank you, Daniel!
Why not, once a month?
